Legal warranty periods by item

The Consumer Dispute Resolution Criteria(소비자분쟁해결기준) notice from the Fair Trade Commission(공정거래위원회) sets a free warranty period and a parts availability period for each item. When the period printed on your warranty card is shorter than this, this standard applies instead.

The table below is copied directly from the notice's original text, the same data this app uses to count days remaining. It was checked on 2026-08-25.

For items not in this table

An item without its own listed period follows a similar item, and if there is none of those either, the default is a 12-month warranty with 5 years of parts availability.

And parts availability counts from the manufacturing date, not the purchase date (for cars, from the final sale date instead). Buying used widens this gap considerably.
