How to manage your warranties

A warranty card usually turns up only after something is already broken, and by then the period may already be over. This tool has you note down what you bought ahead of time, then counts when the warranty ends and how many days are left. No account, no install.

What this tool does

It does three things. It keeps your items in a list, adds the warranty months to the purchase date to get an expiry date, and counts the days left from today. The list is ordered by the earliest expiry, so you can see from the top which item runs out first. An item past its expiry switches to showing how many days ago that happened.

What it does not do is just as clear. It does not send reminders, does not file a claim with the manufacturer for you, and does not judge whether you qualify for free repair. Holding onto the dates you need for that judgment is this tool's job.

How to add an item

Enter the item name, purchase date, and warranty period in months, then register it, and that is it. Pick a name you will recognize later, and use the date printed on your receipt or payment record for the purchase date. If you do not know the months, tap one of the item buttons below the input. It fills the months field with the legal figure listed on the home page.

What the button fills in is only a starting point. If your warranty card states a different period, enter that number yourself. The expiry date is nothing more than purchase date plus months, so whatever number you enter decides the result.

Attaching a receipt photo

You can attach a receipt photo to each item on the list. Paper receipts fade within a few months, so taking a photo when you register the item makes it easier to prove the purchase date later. Photos go into this device's browser storage and are never uploaded to a server.

One thing to know ahead of time: the export file does not include photos. Adding photos would make the file hundreds of times larger, and we left them out to keep it a light record file. For items where the photo matters, keep a copy in your photo album too.

Where records live and how to move them

What you add is stored only in this browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is no account to create, and clearing this browser's site data erases the records too. When switching devices or browsers, export a file first, then read it back in with import on the new device.

Import merges instead of overwriting. If you already added a few items on the new device, those stay as they are, and the items from the file are added after them. Reading the same file twice does not duplicate anything already there.

How far to trust the numbers

The item table on the home page was read directly from the Consumer Dispute Resolution Criteria(소비자분쟁해결기준) notice, a Fair Trade Commission(공정거래위원회) notice, and copied here, with the check date and the original source link listed below the table. The notice covers far more items than the table shows, so what is here is only a portion. For an item not listed, check the original source.

The expiry date this tool produces is a calculation from the purchase date and months you entered, not a legal judgment. Which period actually applies and what treatment you can get should be confirmed against your warranty card, the notice's original text, and guidance from the seller or manufacturer. Knowing ahead of time that a period is running low is as far as this tool goes.
